Groups & Programs

Babysitting Co-op

Do you wish you had a little time to get some errands done, or get your hair cut? This is a group of moms who exchange occasional babysitting services. They meet on a monthly basis at a member’s home to get to know each other.

Children’s Parties

The CVMC hosts parties and events for members and their families with an emphasis on children’s entertainment and family fun. We do our best to plan parties and events that can be enjoyed by children of all ages, although some may be more suited to a specific age group. Children’s Parties are planned at least quarterly, sometimes more often.

Community Outreach

Community Outreach is a wonderful way to give back to the community and get involved in one’s locality in fun, rewarding and unique ways. It links the members of the Castro Valley Mother’s Club with the surrounding cities of Castro Valley, San Leandro, Hayward, and San Lorenzo. By getting involved in community work, one gains a deeper understanding and insight into the mechanisms of one’s local society; its schools, public services, business and private sector, citizenry and local issues.

Community Outreach in the Castro Valley Mothers Club participates in several major annual events, as well as smaller monthly events and activities. These include the Halloween Parade for Baywood Court, a senior independent living, assisted living & skilled nursing home in Castro Valley, a coat drive for One Warm Coat and a Toy Drive, both in December, the Annual Rowell Ranch Rodeo Parade in May, and the Annual Castro Valley Fall Festival.

In-A-Pinch

Sometimes you just need a hand… whether you have recently had a baby, a surgery or an illness in the family, the in-a-pinch team is here to help!  If you are in a position of need, sign up with the In-A-Pinch coordinator and she can arrange to have up to 5 meals brought to you, or perhaps find someone to help you with chores or errands or even picking your children up from school or daycare. Thanks to all the moms who have provided meals and help over the last year!

Playgroups

Playgroups are a great way to meet other moms and children. Each group is coordinated based on the availability of the Mom as well as the child’s age, so both mom and child can have fun learning and playing together. The playgroups are kept small to encourage the development of close relationships. Playgroups usually meet once a week, but it’s quite common for individual members of the playgroup to form close friendships, and therefore meet more often! New playgroups are forming all the time! Come join us!

Bigtent

The CVMC is now on Bigtent! This means that any active member can interact with other participating member moms. If you are looking for advice, have something to give away, or just want to share some information, it is as simple as sending one email. You will be able to see all the responses to your questions, as well as responses to other member’s questions! This is a great way to share and receive information among over 300 CVMC members!
